1st group meeting

Today we had our first group meeting in order to prepare for the first round of pitching and to get ready for filming.

During this meeting we discussed the entire narrative of our final piece to make sure everyone was on the same page.

After this we discussed potential actors for the film, during this meeting it was brought up that Dan used to work for a child acting agency and will contact them to help us find actors of suitable age to play Nathan and Jake.  It was also decided that we would look into groups and societies to find actors to play any other characters.

When discussing filming locations it was acknowledged that the opening of the film requires several different looking hallways. I also discussed how I had done some research and felt the suburb of Crosspool may be an excellent place to film the exterior scenes of the script. I also stated that a local shop in my village had the perfect aesthetics for Mr Mackeys film in the script. It was also discussed that the small scene of Nathan's bedroom could potentially be a filmed in someones house rather than building a set.

Although the script for this film is loosely based my own life experiences, it is important to gain inspiration from different points of reference, I felt that the visual style of Son of Rambo may be excellent for inspiration as it is film based on the antagonistic relationship between two boys whilst also having a great nostalgic feel to it at some places.

After discussing all this we agreed to meet up the next day to fully prepare for the pitch.
